Three starter kits for a personal AI brain

No email required. Copy the text, use it, change it. These are the templates we actually run.

Document intake checklist

Before you upload anything, run this list. Ten clean documents beat a thousand junk files.

# Personal AI intake checklist

## 1. Pick the material that changed a decision
- [ ] Strategy / planning notes from the last 12 months
- [ ] Meeting notes where something was decided (not every meeting)
- [ ] Product or project specs that were actually built
- [ ] Contracts, invoices, or policies you have had to look up twice
- [ ] Research you would cite in an argument

## 2. Drop the noise
- [ ] Duplicates and exported copies
- [ ] Files with no text layer (scans) — OCR separately first
- [ ] Anything you cannot legally upload to a third party

## 3. Normalise the format
- [ ] Export to PDF, Markdown or DOCX (not screenshots)
- [ ] Keep one topic per file where you can
- [ ] Name files with a date prefix: 2026-03-pricing-decision.md

Citation-forcing retrieval prompt

Paste this as the system instruction when you build your own RAG loop. It is the difference between a demo and a tool you trust.

You answer strictly from the CONTEXT passages provided.

Rules:
1. Use only CONTEXT. Never invent facts, numbers, names or dates.
2. Cite every claim as [1], [2] referring to the passage numbers.
3. If the answer is not in CONTEXT, say "not in your documents" and name
the file that would most likely contain it.
4. Lead with the answer in one sentence, then supporting detail.
5. If passages disagree, say so and show both, do not average them.

Weekly brain review

Ten minutes a week keeps the index honest. Run it as a chat in the brain tool.

Answer using only my uploaded documents.

1. What decisions did I record this week? List date + decision + source file.
2. Which of those contradict an earlier decision? Quote both.
3. What did I say I would do but have not logged since?
4. Which topics do I keep asking about that have no document behind them?
(These are the notes I have not written yet.)

Want to see it running instead?

Upload one document and ask the weekly review question.
